Checklist for your upcoming Triathlon Race
The weeks and days leading up to your upcoming triathlon race can be stressful, and there are a lot of things you have to manage. Have I remembered to buy everything I need?
We have prepared a small checklist that you can use to double check that you have everything.

Race morning which is brought to the transition zone:
{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"list","listType":"unordered","children":[{"type":"text","value":"\n"},{"type":"list-item","children":[{"type":"text","value":"\n"},{"type":"link","url":"https://transition-zone.com/collections/nutrition","title":"https://transition-zone.com/collections/nutrition","target":"_blank","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Energy and liquid","bold":true}]},{"type":"text","value":" for race morning and before the start – a small snack to satisfy hunger, liquid with electrolytes or energy to consume during the morning and a gel for the card before the race."}]},{"type":"text","value":"\n"},{"type":"list-item","children":[{"type":"text","value":" Warm clothes for before and after the race, as it is typically early in the morning and it can therefore be cool. It can also be cool after the race."}]},{"type":"text","value":"\n"},{"type":"list-item","children":[{"type":"text","value":" Telephone and credit card, so you can get in touch with friends and family by race if necessary, as well as money to buy something if you need it."}]},{"type":"text","value":"\n"},{"type":"list-item","children":[{"type":"text","value":" Trisuit to wear under your "},{"type":"link","url":"https://transition-zone.com/collections/vaddragt","title":"https://transition-zone.com/collections/vaddragt","target":"_blank","children":[{"type":"text","value":"wetsuit","bold":true}]},{"type":"text","value":"\n"}]},{"type":"text","value":" "},{"type":"list-item","children":[{"type":"text","value":"\n"},{"type":"link","url":"/collections/calf-sleeves","title":"Calf Sleeves","target":"_blank","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Calves sleeves","bold":true}]},{"type":"text","value":" if you use them (should be on from the start, as they are difficult to put on after swimming when you are wet. Note that if you use calves sleeves or compression sleeves/socks, they must be without feet, as the feet must not be covered during swimming. And if wetsuits are not allowed due to too hot water temperature, calf sleeves are typically not allowed during swimming either)"}]},{"type":"text","value":"\n"},{"type":"list-item","children":[{"type":"text","value":" "},{"type":"link","url":"/collections/cykelcomputer","title":"Cycling computer","target":null,"children":[{"type":"text","value":"Cycle computer","bold":true}]},{"type":"text","value":" and any electronic gear - remember to charge them the day before and make sure it's playing before you go to bed."}]},{"type":"text","value":"\n"}]}]}

Heart rate belt (worn under the trisuit from the start so you don't have to bother with it in T1)
Watch for tracking (some prefer to only use it for running, and in that case, it should be in the running bag)
Swimming cap
Goggles/swimming goggles
(feel free to bring an extra pair in case of an accident and they break before the race).
Timing chip (which you typically receive at bike check in)
Vaseline/baby oil/body slip to lubricate under arms and around the neck area when putting on a wetsuit to avoid unpleasant abrasions
Cycling shoes (if they are not checked into the cycling bag the day before)
Elastics for your cycling shoes, if you want to have the cycling shoes sitting on the bike from the start
Bottles with liquid and energy to put on the bike
Energy for the entire bike part, if it has not already been checked in the day before in the bike and running bag.
Extra tubes , CO2 cartridge, CO2 pump , tire iron and multitool to fix a possible puncture (must be able to be on the bike).
Possibly a foot pump to pump your bike before the race.
If you ride with disc wheels, you must also remember a pipe to be able to pump up your disc wheels and remember that your spare tubes have the right length of valve that fits your particular setup. Alternatively, make sure you have valve extensions with. Also feel free to bring a few extra tubes in the morning, in case you have a puncture during the night.

The T1 bag - From swimming to cycling - checked in the day before for a bigger race:
- Bike helmet
- Sunglasses
- Energy for the bike , if it is not already on the bike from the start.
- Salt sticks (it can be an advantage that they are already on the bike together with energy and bottle, if possible)
- Cycling shoes if they are not already on the bike
- Socks if you want to cycle with socks
- Number belt with race number (If it is a requirement on the bike. If it is not a requirement, keep it in the running bag, as it is an unnecessary item to have on the bike).

T2 Bag - From cycling to running:
- Runningshoes
- Socks (unless you already wear them while cycling – might be nice to have fresh ones in that case)
- Energy for the run
- Number belt with race number (unless already carried while cycling)
- Salt sticks
- Sunglasses
- Cap or other headgear if necessary
If you go through this list and have it all, then you should be ready for your next triathlon race.
Enjoy!
