Watt pedals – precise and flexible watt measurement directly in the pedals

Watt pedals have quickly established themselves as one of the most popular solutions for accurately measuring power in cycling and triathlon. Unlike traditional power meters, which measure in the crankset, chainring or rear wheel, watt pedals measure directly where the power is transmitted – namely in the pedal itself. This provides a very direct and reliable measurement of the power you actually produce, and makes it possible to analyze both the right and left legs individually if you choose dual versions. It is not without reason that more and more both exercisers and elite athletes choose watt pedals as their primary source of data when they need to optimize their training and become faster on the bike.

Watt pedals also have the great advantage of being extremely easy to move from one bike to another. If you ride both road and triathlon, or if you want to use the same set of power meters on both your racing bike and home trainer, then the pedals are an obvious choice. You simply unscrew them and mount them on a new bike - and you're off and running. It doesn't require any special cranksets or wheel hubs, and many of the watt pedals we sell can be calibrated quickly and easily via an app. This makes them ideal for both the technically interested and those who just want to get going without too much hassle.

Why is watt data important in cycling training?

Power measurement has revolutionized the way you train and compete in cycling and triathlon. Where in the past you only looked at heart rate and sensation, today you can measure objectively how many watts you are pedaling – and thus how much work you are actually doing. The advantage of watt data is that it is not affected by external factors such as temperature, sleep or daily form in the same way as heart rate. This means you can structure your training much more precisely, hit the right zones and develop faster.

Watt pedals also make it possible to work on details such as pedaling technique, balance between the legs and cadence pattern. For example, if you discover that your left leg produces significantly less power than the right, you can adjust your position or strength training accordingly. Watt pedals also make it possible to pace during competition with much greater precision – especially in triathlons, where it is important to stay within an optimal zone in order not to burn out before the race. Many watt pedals can also be connected wirelessly to your bike computer via ANT+ or Bluetooth, so you always have the data right in front of you.

Watt pedals from Magene, Garmin, Wahoo and Favero

With us you will find a wide selection of watt pedals from some of the market's most recognized manufacturers - including Magene, Garmin, Wahoo and Favero Assioma. Each manufacturer has their own strengths and technologies, but common to all of them is a focus on accuracy, reliability and ease of use. You can choose between single-sided pedals (Uno versions) and double-sided (Duo versions), depending on how detailed you want your data. Many choose to start with a single-sided solution and upgrade later - it provides good flexibility and is a financially sensible choice.

It’s also worth mentioning that watt pedals today have become much more durable and weather-resistant. You can ride in rain and slush with ease, and the battery life on most models is long enough to handle even the longest competitions. Many watt pedals come with rechargeable batteries or easily replaceable button cells, and several offer automatic temperature compensation so that measurements remain accurate in changing conditions.

Watt pedals are no longer just for the pros – they are a valuable tool for anyone who wants to get more out of their training and cycling experience. Whether you cycle to improve, compete in triathlons, or just love data and technology, watt pedals are an investment that pays off quickly.
